25 Species of Anoles at the World’s Largest Reptile Show

The Hamm Reptile Show, operated by Terraristika Hamm, is said to be the largest reptile expo in the world. Several shows are held a year, the most recent 2½ weeks ago. One AA correspondent reports there were “plenty of captive bred anole species. For example: barbatus, porcus, valencienni, noblei, bartschi, roquet, baracoae, allisoni. I think more than 25 species available just on this show.” It’s surprisingly hard to get information on the show on the internet. Can any of our readers tell us more?

I have been to this show 2 times 2004 & 2005 (I think). There are so many unique species, both invert & herp offered for sale. The barbatus I was keeping originated from this expo.

I have been visiting the Hamm show for the last 15 years, it is well organised and very well attended, during this time I have seen dozens of species of Anoles traded, mostly captive bred with the occasional A.sagrei, A.carolinensis offered wild caught. the last visit I made to the show I picked up a pair of CB Anolis marmoratus alliaceus, and a pair of Anolis (Norops) limifrons, I also saw offered A. bartschi, multiple subspecies of A.roquet, A.marmoratus, as well as A.teraealtae, A.ferreus, A.bimaculatus, A.sabanus, A.evermanni, A.smallwoodi, A.baracoae and even A (Norops) aquaticus and oxylophus. all in all definitely the place in Europe for Anoles!
